Saturday, 8-16- Pinole Creek Cleanup, 10 AM, in person upper creek watershed. “
On Sat, August 16, come see a part of the Pinole Creek Watershed you don’t
normally travel to! Join us at 10 am for a trash cleanup in the Upper Watershed
at the intersection of Alhambra Valley Road and Bear Creek Road (map link:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/j7XRh7th7gLeBKHj6).  We don’t know the weather so far in advance, but it may be sunny and hot, so come prepared! We’ll have water and snacks and all tools. We’ll be cleaning up mostly along the road, so think safety! The Pinole Citizens Academy is a free three-session interactive program that provides insight to City services and operations and offers opportunities for civic engagement in the City.

This is the first Pinole Citizens Academy founded by City Manager, Kelcey Young, with the full support of the Executive Team.

It provides an excellent opportunity for the community to increase their knowledge of City government and its impact. The City would like your input on building reach codes from the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). In August 2024, the City adopted its inaugural Climate Action and Adaptation (CAAP), a greenprint to achieve zero carbon emissions by the year 2045. A reach code is a local ordinance which adds additional requirements to the state’s building code in order to address issues such as greenhouse gas emissions reduction, energy efficiency, air quality, public health, safety, and more. For example, a potential requirement may include installing electrification measures such as a heat pump space conditioning system when replacing or adding a central air conditioner, with the option still available to keep a gas furnace provided other efficiency measures are installed.
