Pinole City Council Meeting, 9-19-23

To start, there’s one closed session item on the Management Compensation Plan.

There’s a council appointment to the county advisory council on aging- recommendation to appoint Lori Magistrado.

For proclamations, there’s blood cancer awareness month, 3 separate centenarian recognitions for Bob Burmester, Sam Campbell, and Jean Clark Ulversoy, national senior center day, and recognition of police commander Matt Avery for his work with the special Olympics.

Then there’s the consent calendar- There’s the normal minutes and warrants, notices of completion for the EV charging stations project and playground rubberized surface improvements, reports on the Capital Improvement Plan, Strategic Plan, Climate action and adptation plan, fourth quarter investment report, fourth quarter financial report (notable for showing an increase in end of year balance of 2.7 million (page 154)), an amendment to pay for implementation of the new permit tracking system ($25k), adjustment of the appropriations limit due to a calculation error, a resolution declaring the Faria House surplus land,

and finally, appointment of Pinole Police Chief Neil Gang as interim City Manager.

There are 2 items under new business- information on establishing a crime prevention through environmental design grant/rebate program, and an overview of the city’s boards and commissions.
